The Iris control is an ultrasonic control used on ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic pipes and uses an immersion ultrasonic transducer, mounted inside a turbine with a 360 ° rotating head, which, translating inside the tube scans the residual thickness, with the possibility of discriminating internal and external indication.
The technique allows to detect wall reductions due to corrosion, erosion, wear and flaking.
